Задача: какое высказывание больше всего ослабляет предположение скептиков о том, что углерод в пробах земли вызван не деятельностью человека, а перенесен подземными водами из расположденных неподалеку угольных залежей.
(A) смысл: Вряд ли нижние слои земли были загрязнены без затрагивание верхних слоев. - не ослабляет, а скорее усиливает предположение скептиков.
(В) слишком общее высказывание и не про углерод из залежей => не ослабляет, не верно.
(С) про уголь в качестве топлива ничего не говорилось, углерод мог вырабоатываться и от какой-то другой деятельности. это только усиливает подозрения скептиков.
(D) Перевод: при перепроверке ни одна из проб не была оценена как более древняя по сравнению с пробами из более верхних слоев. Получается, что чем глубже тем не старше... Вообще-то когда я первый раз читал, то подумал, что перепроверка дала вывод, что чем глубже тем старше возраст пробы... это было бы проще объяснить.. Может имеется в виду что все пробы были распределены равномерно и что подземные воды должны были бы нарушить эту естественную равномерность? не понятно...
(Е) смысл: больше нигде в америке используя этот метод не находили пробы с таким большим возрастом. про другие регионы речь в тексте не идет, не ослабляет.

В общем, все ответы странные но я за D.

6 не простой, согласен. Могу оставить кому-нибудь еще для тренировки и не расписывать подробно
Я использовал метод исключений, все варианты ответов достаточно странные и не явные, оставил менее странный на мой взгляд. хотя есть идеи как его можно обосновать логически.

4 квадрата лежат "ровно" - в 4х квадрантах с 2 сторонами на осях. (0,0), (10,0), (10,10), (0,10) и т.д.
еще есть по 2 квадрата на каждом из 4 лучей (полу-осей) , приведу координаты для одной пары (0,0), (8,6), (2,14), (-6,8) и (0,0), (6,8), (-2,14), (-8, 6). Итого 4+2*4=12

E - похоже на правду, исходя из того что последствие подтверждено (исчезла водная жизнь) они делают вывод что и причина тоже верна (озеро выпили).
