Как стало известно Sky Sports, планируемое подписание контракта между "Манчестер Юнайтед" и Луи Ван Галем откладывается минимум до следующей недели.

В последние дни активно ходили слухи, что "красные дьяволы" представят 62-летнего Ван Галя своим новым главным тренером уже сегодня, в среду. Но на текущей неделе этого не случится.

Таким образом, к процессу подготовки сборной Голландии к ЧМ-2014 Ван Галь приступает без подписания контракта с "Юнайтед". Чем вызвана задержка, остается лишь догадываться.

United to delay manager announcement until end of season

There was talk Louis van Gaal could be announced at United before the Southampton game but it will not happen this week.

Manchester United will not be confirming their next manager before the end of the season.

Louis van Gaal is expected to become the permanent successor to David Moyes, who was sacked last month, and there was speculation that the Dutchman could be announced this week.

But talk that Van Gaal would be at Old Trafford for the Hull game proved wide of the mark and while the Holland coach is keen to focus his attention on the World Cup, there will be no formal announcement from United until next week.

Ryan Giggs will continue as interim manager for the Reds' trip to Southampton on Sunday to end the current Premier League campaign, and has to decide what - if any - his role will be at the club next season.

Scoring two goals on his debut at Old Trafford was a dream come true for life-long United fan James Wilson.

The 18-year-old’s spectacular opening match has seen him hailed as a new hope for the club - and a triumph for the club’s youth system.

Growing up in Biddulph, near Stoke, as a schoolboy Wilson showed all the signs of incredible young talent, drawing comparisons with Javier Hernandez and his hero Wayne Rooney.

The former Biddulph High school student was spotted by United scouts as a seven-year-old.

Louis van Gaal has told BBC Sport he wants to become the new manager of Manchester United.

The 62-year-old Netherlands boss has been the overwhelming favourite for the role since the dismissal of David Moyes on 22 April.

"I would love the job," said Van Gaal. "I hope that I shall be the one. It's the biggest club in the world and it's a fantastic challenge."

It is anticipated United will confirm the appointment early next week.

But despite the huge speculation surrounding him, the Dutchman is refusing to accept the job is his.

"You (the media) are thinking I'm the man but the most important thing is whether Manchester United are thinking that," he said.

"You have to wait and see what the club decides. It's always the same - it's always a process and you have to wait for the process, the press are always too fast."

 Wayne Rooney was spotted on a day out at Chester.

The United striker was with team-mate Darren Fletcher, Old Trafford old boy Michael Owen and wife Coleen.

On day two of the Chester Festival, Rooney was snapped watching 3/1 favourite come home in the big race of the day, the 2.45 Chester Vase.
