TO: ALL FLEX PEOPLE!Hey Guys! After a long break, I'm back to this place.
Got many things to tell, mostly about the International Film Festival "Eurasia-2005"
First of all, here goes the list of all alumni who took part in it.
= Zhandos Bakbergenuly '01 - was translating movies during the Festival =
= Kirill Roschin '01 - was one of the Guest Service members =
= Zhibek Karamanova '03 - was interpreting for Siddiq Barmak (Juree member) =
= Ayzhan Mendygarina '04 - was one of the Guest Service members =
= Dina Karibayeva '04 - was interpreting for script-writers from Israel =
= As for me, I was interpreting for a group of producers from L.A. =
During the Festival I've seen all celebrities who made it here. I took a picture only with Jean Claude Van Damm. Dont want to offend anyone, but the rest of the "celebrities" werent worth for taking pictures. Michele Placido is a "starichok", John Savage is not a great actor, Catherine Deneuve is a "babushka" and so on and on... Guys, they(Kazakhfilm) spent so much money for inviting those "stars"!
Anyways, I really enjoyed the festival. The group that was assigned to were the VIP Guests. So, their programm was full of exciting activities and events. For example, only producers from L.A. were taken for the Helicopter Ride! We were flying on two helicopters for the whole day. Made stops at Big Almaty Lake, Kolsai Lake, Tugren Falls, Charyn Canyon, Tamgaly and other beautiful places of Almaty region. During the flight, the Minister of Culture Yesset Kosubaev shared a secret about building the future Talliwood (Grand Cinema complex near Talgar).
Besides official round-tables and conferences, there were many private parties for festival guests at most of the ellite restaurants, pubs, clubs and other places. My group was the most outgoing group. Even after those parties I had to go with them to night clubs and stiptease clubs. So, every night I was sleeping only for a few hours. Since I live in KazNU dormitory that closes after 11, I had to climb up every night too. So, that was a fun week. But now it is over and we should start the alumni projects. There might be an alumni meeting at the end of the week! =)
